The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service offers reward

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is offering a $12,500 reward for information on the killings of three whooping cranes in Calhoun County.

The annoucement was sent to The Herald via e-mail this afternoon.

The cranes were found and reported by hunters in the area on Dec. 30. Last week, officials confirmed that they had died from gunshot wounds.
