Fort Valley -- Fort Valley State University's Ricardo Lockette, an Albany native and Monroe alum, received an invitation Tuesday to join more than three hundred of the very best college football players in the country at the 2011 NFL Scouting Combine. The invitation-only scouting combine will be held in Indianapolis, Ind., from Feb. 23-March 1.

Lockette, a receiver and return specialist, finished the 2010 season with 23 receptions for 262 yards. He averaged 11.4 yards per catch and caught one touchdown pass. His longest reception was 50 yards. As a kick off returner, Lockette averaged 24 yards per return. His longest return was 49 yards.

Lockette is also a star on the Wildcats' track team.

"I can't tell you how excited I am about the invitation," Lockette said. "I recognize that this is a huge opportunity for me to showcase my abilities to the entire league and possibly continue the legacy of Wildcat players in the NFL. With so much on the line, rest assured that I'm working as hard as I can to represent myself, Wildcats Football and Fort Valley State University in a positive way."
