ATLANTA -- Georgia's favorite celebrity chef Paula Deen is the face of the state's new travel guide.
Gov. Nathan Deal announced Tuesday that Deen and her sons, Jamie and Bobby, will grace the cover of the 2011 Georgia Travel Guide. The full-color magazine is put out by the Georgia Department of Economic Development to help tout the state.
The state prints about 750,000 each year and hands them out at visitor information centers and travel and trade shows.
A Food Network star, Deen has a culinary empire based out of Savannah. She's known for bringing a gourmet flare to down-home Southern favorites.
Georgia ranks eighth in the country for spending by domestic travelers, which shelled out $17.5 billion in 2009.
