AMERICUS -- Georgia Southwestern junior Gabby Buck was named to the 2011 Peach Belt Conference softball preseason All-Conference team on Wednesday afternoon.
Buck, a catcher/outfielder, led the Lady Hurricanes in most offensive categories in 2010, including batting average (.355), runs (36), hits (54), doubles (15), total bases (81), slugging percentage (.533), and on-base percentage (.424).
The Sharpsburg native hit .360 with runners in scoring position and was 3-for-4 with the bases loaded, earning postseason All-Conference honors for the second-consecutive year.
Buck started all 51 games and held her own on the defensive side, as well, compiling a .987 fielding percentage, while committing only one error all season.
The 2011 preseason All-Conference team is listed below. The 2011 season begins on Feb. 4 and continues to the PBC Tournament April 15-17 at the Freedom Florence Complex in Florence, S.C.
