TIFTON, Ga. -- Area amateur and professional photographers will be featured in a new exhibit at the Tifton Museum of Arts and Heritage.
A reception for the photographers is planned from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. July 10.
Prizes totaling $550 will be awarded during the reception. Judge for the show is Dominick Gheesling, assistant professor of art at Valdosta State University, where he teaches photography.
Jeannie Rigdon, chair of the exhibit, said prizes will be awarded during the reception in the categories of architecture, animals, nature, children and adults.
Amateur photographers ages 16 and older and professional photographers are eligible to enter the competition. The museum will accept entries from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. A maximum of three entries is allowed per person with a $5 fee per photograph. Photos must be no smaller than 8x10 and no larger than 36x36 including framing.
