ALBANY, Ga. -- A suspected purse thief doesn't seem to be a criminal mastermind, according to an Albany Police Department report.
The suspect posted a picture of himself holding a phone stolen with the purse on Facebook, the report added.
The purse was stolen near 2 a.m. June 26 from a vehicle parked at the Triple Diamond Lounge, 1009 Clark Ave.
"This individual is a 'person of interest' in an entering auto case," said Phyllis Banks, police spokeswoman. "He took the victim's purse, which contained a cell phone. While in possession of the phone he took a picture of himself and posted it on Facebook."
With the Wednesday release of the self-taken "Wanted" picture, police also gave a description of the suspect. He was described as about 18- to- 25-years-old, with black hair and brown eyes, having a mustache and wearing glasses.
Banks said the police would like the community's help in identifying and locating the man in the picture.
