ALBANY, Ga. -- After arresting one man, warrants have been issued for another man wanted in connection with a beating on the 1200 block of Edgerly Avenue that left a victim hospitalized since June 24.
Warrants for aggravated assault and aggravated battery have been issued for the arrest of 20-year-old Demarcus Dontravious Lewis, stated an Albany Police Department report.
"Lewis and two other individuals brutally attacked 45-year-old Jerome Benjamin Walden with a board," said Phyllis Banks, police spokeswoman. "Walden remains in the hospital."
Walden was admitted to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and is in serious condition, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Tracy Lashawn Smith, 33, was arrested Monday and charged with aggravated assault and battery. He remains in Dougherty County Jail.
