ATLANTA — The state investigation into possible cheating on 2009 CRCT tests in the Dougherty County School System will continue, Gov. nathan Deal’s office said moments ago.

Deal said he is continuing the probe after former Attorney General Mike Bowers, the state’s investigator, expressed reservations at stopping the probe after reviewing preliminary results Wednesday and today.

Deal said he had hope the test-cheating probe was at a stopping point, but has agreed to continue.

Governor’s office officials told The Herald in an email Wednesday that the Dougherty probe had been dropped, confirming an Associated Press report.
