ALBANY -- Playing in its final regular-season game against American Legion's Albany Post 30 19-under team, the Leesburg Post 182 19-under team beat its rival Tuesday night at Paul Eames Park, 14-9.
Post 182, which improved to 4-1 against Post 30 this season, jumped out to an early lead with a four-run fourth inning. Post 30 fought back into the game with a four-run sixth inning, but Post 182 put the game away by scoring six runs in the seventh inning.
Post 182 never trailed in the contest.
Four Post 182 players -- Ware County's Mack Arnold, Deerfield's Banks Kinslow, Ware County's Will Wilson and Glynn Academy's Casey James -- all finished with multi-hit games. Arnold was 2-for-6 with two RBI and a triple, Kinslow was 2-for-5 with two singles, Wilson was 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and three runs and James was 3-for-6 with two doubles, two runs and two RBI.
Daniel Conger from Tiftarea Academy was the winning pitcher, throwing six innings with seven strikeouts, six hits, four runs and no walks.
Lee County's Jordan Cox threw 3 1/3 innings for Post 30 and was the losing pitcher.
At the plate for Post 30, Lee County's Cole Goodwin was 2-for-5 with two RBI, Tiftarea Academy's Lawton Cooper was 3-for-4 with two runs, Albany State rising sophomore Jacob Campbell was 1-for-3 with a triple and two RBI and Dylan Gay was 2-for-5.
