ALBANY, Ga. -- The man behind Riverfront Barbecue is opening another space on West Broad Avenue, with this one to offer country cooking, he said.
Dale Saunders successfully launched Riverfront Barbecue when the 100 block of Broad Avenue and Front Street was more of a ghost town than a downtown. Years later, Saunders finds himself with a dedicated following at his downtown restaurant, and a growing group of fans of his steak and seafood restaurant off North Jefferson Street.
Now, Saunders is offering a buffet of country fixin's, targeting those who live and work in the downtown area and who don't have the luxury of lengthy lunch breaks.
"Lots of people don't get a lot of time for their lunch breaks, so we've designed this to be something quick-in, quick-out, where people can get good food without wasting a lot of time," Saunders said.
The building at 119 W. Broad Ave. is adjacent to Riverfront Barbecue and is open, but doesn't yet have signage, which is expected soon.
