ALL-AREA TENNIS TEAM:

Mallory Pinnell, Sr., Americus-Sumter

WHY SHE'S HERE: Runner-up for Player of the Year, played No. 1 singles for the Region 1-AAA champion Lady Panthers, who finished 13-3 as a team and reached the GHSA Class AAA Sweet 16. Finished 14-2 individually, named team captain and signed with GSW.

Lauren Resnick, So., Americus-Sumter

WHY SHE'S HERE: Played No. 2 singles, finished 14-2 individually for the Region 1-AAA champion Lady Panthers, who were 13-3 overall and reached the GHSA Class AAA Sweet 16.

Savannah Boysen, So., Westover

WHY SHE'S HERE: Played No. 1 singles for the Lady Patriots, finished 12-3 overall and led Westover to the GHSA Class AAA Sweet 16.

Hope Kitchen (Jr.)/Lucy Kelley (Jr.), Deerfield

WHY THEY'RE HERE: Played No. 1 doubles for DWS, reached the GISA Class AAA state semis, finished season 14-2.

Kaycie Eubanks (Sr.)/Annabelle Larkin (Sr.)/Westwood

Y THEY'RE HERE: Won the state title in GISA Class A while playing No. 1 doubles for the Region 3-A and Class A state champion Lady Wildcats, finishing 14-3 overall.

Marley Williams (Sr.)/J.C. Santos (So.), Baconton Charter

WHY THEY'RE HERE: Finished the regular season 16-2 overall -- but were unbeaten in region. They also won the Region 1-A title, led the Lady Blazers to a 17-1 overall record and the GHSA Class A Elite 8.

Abby Anglin, So., Baconton Charter

WHY SHE'S HERE: Finished the regular season 16-1 overall at No. 1 singles and didn't suffer her only loss until the Elite 8 of the GHSA Class A state tournament. Led the Lady Blazers to their first Region 1-A girls tennis title in school history.

Sierra Davis, So., Baconton Charter

WHY SHE'S HERE: Finished the regular season 16-1 overall at No. 2 singles and didn't suffer her only loss until the Elite 8 of the GHSA Class A state tournament. Led the Lady Blazers to their first Region 1-A girls tennis title in school history.
