ALBANY, Ga. -- Albany police responded to at least 56 incidents Tuesday into the early hours of Wednesday, according to available reports.
A burglar hit the On the Go Food Store at 500 S. Jefferson St. at about 7:40 a.m. Tuesday. He stole cash from a register and took goods. The suspect is described as a black male of light complexion with a beard. He wore a T-shirt, sweat pants and a baseball cap during the robbery. Police also responded to incidents including:
-- Indecent exposure, saggy pants, on the 2400 block of Nottingham Way and the 300 block of East Broad Avenue;
-- Interference with a city officer on the 1100 block of Newton Road;
-- Motor vehicle thefts on the 1800 block of Stratford Drive, the 700 block of East Oglethorpe Boulevard and the 2600 block of Gillionville Road;
-- Entering autos on the 1200 block of North Slappey Boulevard, the 2500 block of Hilltop Drive, the 1000 block of North Slappey Boulevard and the 700 block of Partridge Drive;
-- Drunken driving on the 500 block of Westover Boulevard;
-- Armed robbery, no injury reported, on the 500 block of North Westover Boulevard;
-- Terroristic threats and acts on the 1100 block of Ninth Avenue and the 200 block of Collins Street;
-- Disorderly conduct, a fight, on the 500 block of Ninth Street;
-- Acquisition of gas without paying on the 1300 block of North Slappey Boulevard;
-- Burglaries on the 1900 block of Riverview Circle, the 200 block of Sixth Avenue, the 2300 block of Oakridge Drive, the 300 block of West Broad Avenue and the 300 block of South Jackson Street;
-- Simple battery on the 400 block of Wells Avenue and the 1200 block of East Broad Avenue;
-- Dog bite on the 1000 block of Dunes Avenue;
-- Missing juvenile on the 1000 block of Dunes Avenue;
-- Theft by taking on the 2300 block of Golfcourse Drive;
-- Violation of family protection order on the 500 block of Park Lane;
-- Simple battery (domestic) on the 700 block of Don Cutler Sr. Drive and the 600 block of West Second Avenue;
-- Battery, vandalism (domestic) on the 600 block of John W. Williams Road;
-- Domestic disturbances (unfounded) on the 700 block of West Oglethorpe Boulevard, the 700 block of West Whitney Avenue, the 600 block of Cotton Avenue and the 400 block of Harding Street;
-- Larceny (domestic) on the 1300 block of Montego Court.
DOUGHERTY EMS: Dougherty County EMS responded to 56 calls on Tuesday. There were 40 medical calls, 14 trauma calls and two other type calls. Chief medical complaints included three chest pain, one respiratory issue, five people fainted, one obstetric call, two mental health calls, four miscellaneous pain calls and 24 various medical calls. The trauma calls included one auto crash victim, nine falls, one laceration and three fights/assaults. Other type calls are typically standby or transport for other agencies.
LEE SHERIFF: Lee County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to about 50 calls during the week. Deputies responded to calls including:
-- Drunken driving on the 1800 block of Philema Road and with open container on the 200 block of State Highway 118;
-- Road hazard on the 2700 block of Ledo Road;
-- Welfare checks on the 100 block of Quail Valley Drive and the 1700 block of Philema Road;
-- Entering auto on the 100 block of Clinton Lane;
-- Vehicle crashes on the 1100 block of U.S. Highway 19 and the 1500 block of U.S. Highway 19;
-- Vehicle crash/hit and run on the 2800 block of Ledo Road;
-- Motorist assist on the 700 block of Pinewood Road;
-- Thefts on the 1500 block of U.S. Highway 19 and the 100 block of Elgin Court;
-- Report of drunken drivers on the 1500 block of U.S. Highway 19 and the 1500 block of Childers Road;
-- Goats on side of the road on the 400 block of U.S. Highway 19;
-- Transport mental health drug abuse case on the 100 block of Hank Drive;
-- Vehicle fire on the 500 block of U.S. Highway 82;
-- Harassment complaint on the 2800 block of Ledo Road;
-- Domestic dispute on the 100 block of Meier Court;
-- Burglaries on the 100 block of William Road and the 100 block of Seahoy Drive;
-- Vandalism on the 100 block of Balmoral Drive;
-- Shots heard fired on the 1500 block of U.S. Highway 19.
ALBANY FIRE: Albany firefighters responded to 12 calls Tuesday, including fire extinguisher training, two controlled burns, a vehicle crash, two electric shorts in appliances, shed fire, false alarm, unattended cooking, broken gas heater pipe, attempted arson vehicle fire and an active alarm.
