LEE COUNTY, Ga.: Tonight, an Albany mayoral candidate will be taking her message on why she'll be the best candidate to lead the city of Albany to one of the most unlikeliest of places: Lee County.
B.J. Fletcher, a local businesswoman, will be the featured speaker to the Albany-Area Tea Party Patriots at their meeting at the Century Road fire station tonight at 7 p.m.
Mike Sabot, one of the organizers of the group, send an e-mail to the Herald last week.
"AATPP membership is comprised of citizens from Dougherty, Lee and surrounding counties. Lee county being a bedroom community of Albany, will have a theme of 'Whats good for Albany, is good for Lee'" Sabot writes.
Fletcher has generally attempted to distance herself from the tea party group, while saying publicly that there are certain conservative values that they do share.
