Shiners Jam to help children

ALBANY -- The Hasan Shriners are partnering with Bo Henry to present the 2nd July Jam Friday evening at the Hasan Shrine Center, 1822 Palmyra Road.

The doors will open at 7 p.m. with the first band performing at 8 p.m.

The Albany Hasan Shriners organization has been in operation since 1951. It currently has 1,200 members. The national Shriners operate 22 hospitals that provide care for children with orthopedic, burn and spinal cord injuries, as well as cleft lip and palate issues.

Musicians that will participate in the jam are The Bo Henry Band, with their eclectic mix of rock and blues, and Cole Taylor and Jodi Mann, who mix in a little country while showcasing some of their own songs.

"After the success of the July Jam last year, we are excited to host it again. And you couldn't find a better person than Bo Henry to partner with for this kind of show," said Wesley Pantone, Hasan's potentate and CEO for 2011.

Tickets for the event is $20 per person. They can be purchased at the Hasan Shrine Center or at Harvest Moon, 2347 Dawson Road. There is a fee of $10 for each cooler that is brought in.

The event will be held indoors.
