ALBANY, Ga. -- Two men dressed in black, one carrying a handgun, robbed a convenience store at about 2 p.m. Wednesday, according to Albany Police.
Confronted by the two robbers, employees at the AM PM Food Mart behind the Chevron gas pumps at 404 S. Slappey Blvd. gave the thieves an undetermined amount of money from the register, said Phyllis Banks, police spokeswoman.
"The two then fled the scene on foot," Banks said.
At about 4 p.m. the crime scene investigators finished their evidence gathering and took down the yellow-crime tape in front of the store.
Store employees and their friends nervously smoked cigarettes in the store's parking lot. They declined to talk about the robbery.
Anyone with additional information should call Crime Stoppers at (229) 436-TIPS (8477) or investigations at (229) 431-3288.
