ALBANY -- Albany State University Rams football fans and supporters are invited to meet and greet the football coaches and hear about the 2011 season at a preseason reception.
The 12th annual Preseason Football Reception will kick off today at 5:30 p.m. at Eula Lovett Hall at the Albany State University Coliseum at Albany State.
The reception, which is free of charge and open to members of the Quarterback Club and Rams football fans, is the official start of the 2011 season.
"This is a great opportunity to thank our fans for supporting us during the 2010 season and solicit support for our 2011 campaign," ASU head coach Mike White said. "We had a great season last year and we are looking forward to providing lots of excitement for our fans as we compete for the 2011 SIAC and national championship titles."
White and the assistant coaches will give a preview of and answer questions about the Rams' upcoming season. Guests will also get to meet and greet several Rams football players.
The Rams, who captured the 2011 SBN Black College National Championship and the SIAC Championship, will open the 2011 season Sept. 3 in a non-conference matchup against the Savannah State University Tigers in the Music City Classic. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. at Henderson Stadium in Macon.
