NEWTON, Ga.: Baker County officials have identified the body of a man found floating in a pond near highway 37 Friday morning.
Coroner Andy Belinc said that the body of Garfield Freeman, Jr., 58, was found in a pond off of Traveler's Rest Road in rural Baker County Friday morning.
It's the second death in two days in the rural agricultural community, but Belinc says that, unlike the incident surrounding the death of William Flake whose body was found Thursday in a car off Milford Church Road, Friday's incident doesn't seem suspicious.
"It doesn't seem suspicious but we're still going to have an autopsy done to just make sure," Belinc said.
