GREENVILLE -- The Randolph-Clay boys basketball team fell, 79-59, to state No. 4 Greenville on Wednesday night in the Sweet 16 round of the GHSA Class A State Tournament.
The Red Devils were led by 25 points from Tim Stringer-Davis, while Shaquille Nunnally added 17.
The loss ends the Red Devils' resurgent season under new coach Oglesby Jackson, who said after the loss he feels the future looks bright in Cuthbert, even though R-C is losing seven seniors.
"I'm definitely happy with our season, especially after what we've been through," said Jackson, who took a program in turmoil a year ago and led them to a 19-8 season and the second round of state this season. "We're going to fine here at Randolph."
UGA signee Kentavious Caldwell-Pope led Greenville with 29 points.

WILCOX COUNTY BOYS 103, PELHAM 47:
The Hornets' season ended at 15-15, but coach Laron Smith deemed it a success in his return to coaching after a decade away.
"I am thankful I came back," said Smith, who coached the Hornets in the '90s before returning this year. "We lost all our starters and our two top bench guys a year ago and many thought we were gonna have a tough year. But making it this far felt good."
Dominique Brown was the only Pelham player in double figures with 10 points. Steve Mango added 7.
UGA signee Nick Marshall led the state No. 3 Patriots with 20 points.
