Police/Fire/EMS March 4, 2011

ALBANY -- Albany police responded to at least 29 incidents Wednesday into the early hours of Thursday, according to available police reports. Police responded to incidents including:

-- While trying to repossess a 2005 red Dodge Neon at 1225 Maryland Drive, Bryan Reddick allowed the driver back into the car to retrieve personal items. According to a police report, once inside the Neon, the driver, Lakesha Polk, 29, "accelerated and ran the victim (Reddick) down." Reddick suffered minor injuries and police arrested Polk for aggravated assault;

-- Burglary on the 1700 block of Radium Springs Road, the 1600 block of Whisperwood Drive and the 900 block of Pleasant Hill Court;

-- Theft by taking on the 2500 block of North Slappey Boulevard;

-- Missing person on the 400 block of West Tift Avenue;

-- Aggravated assault, a man hit over the head with a bottle on the 400 block of Alice Avenue;

-- A rape in December on the 100 block of North Front Street was reported Wednesday;

-- Drunken driving on Gillionville Road at Broad Avenue;

-- Two underage drinking arrests on the 200 block of West Broad Avenue;

-- Domestic (unfounded) on the 1000 block of Whitney Avenue, the 700 block of Burke Avenue, the 1900 block of Riverview Circle, the 600 block of Kingsbury Lane, the 200 block of Edward Drive, the 100 block of Force Drive, the 300 block of Lucille Street and the 2500 block of Elton Street;

-- Assault (family violence) on the 800 block of North davis Street;

-- Simple battery (domestic) on the 1500 block of Whiting Drive;

-- Assault (domestic) on the 700 block of Ninth Avenue.

DOUGHERTY POLICE: Dougherty County police responded to at least 20 calls, according to police reports.

Police responded to incidents including:

-- Traffic arrests on the 3000 block of Gillionville Road, on Liberty Expressway at Moultrie Road and on Oakridge Drive at Sunridge Street;

-- Recovered a stolen gray Jeep Wrangler on the 3800 block of Martin Luther King Drive.

LEE SHERIFF: Lee County deputies responded to at least two calls, according to police reports.

Deputies responded to incidents including:

-- Traffic stop on the 900 block of U.S. 19;

-- Wanted person on the 100 block of Ravenwood Court.

ALBANY FIRE: Albany firefighters responded to 12 calls, including down phone line; unattended cooking; grass fire; carbon monoxide detector alarm; shorted electrical equipment: a battery terminal, an extension cord, a stove and an outlet; vehicle fire; vehicle crash, and an activated alarm.
