COLUMBUS -- The Seminole County girls basketball team came at Calvary Day from all areas of the court Thursday, but the Lady Indians simply ran out of fire power in the end.
Despite four Lady Indians scoring in double figures, Seminole's season ended after a 50-45 loss to Calvary in the Elite 8 round of the GHSA Class A State Tournament at Columbus State.
Super sophomore Alexus Watson led the way with 12 points, while Meshelay Mobley, Georgette Benton and Katrese Brown each scored 11.
Seminole trailed the whole way in this one, falling behind 13-7 after the first quarter, 26-17 at halftime and 37-34 after three.
But the Lady Indians stormed back and tied the game with 4:30 left, but never took the lead.
Seminole's season ends at 20-8 after its first trip in the Elite 8 in more than a decade.
