ALBANY, Ga. -- A woman found severely beaten Thursday morning, coupled with an aggravated assault during an armed robbery and a vicious fight, rounded out violence in the city that started Wednesday night.
Police also did not release the name of a severely beaten, 34-year-old woman found sitting dazed and confused by an abandoned building at 723 W. Broad Ave. at about 7:10 a.m. Thursday.
She was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for treatment by Dougherty County EMS. No further information was immediately available.
Meantime, two men suffered multiple lacerations on their face and arms stemming from a fight at about 6:10 p.m. Wednesday, stated Albany Police Department reports.
Zachary Copenhaver, 30, and Tyler Tucker, 23, suffered lacerations when a thief they were chasing turned around and began hitting them with a beer bottle, the report added. Police say the dispute may have been over prescription drug theft.
A thief stole a bottle of prescription drugs that Copenhaver dropped on the floor of an apartment at 2307 N. Davis St., said Phyllis Banks, police spokeswoman.
"They gave chase and when they caught up to him a fight ensued," Banks said. "The victims' friend, who is also a suspect in the case, turned on them and started hitting them with a bottle."
Police did not release the name of the thief, who used the beer bottle to slash the victims.

Police found an unreleased amount of cash, probably part of an armed robbery, stashed at 402 S. Valencia Drive after 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Brian Paul, 21, was robbed at the point of a 9mm- caliber chrome revolver by two thieves at 2010 W. Broad Ave. less than a mile away from the Valencia Drive address, stated the police report.
While headed to the robbery site, Patrolman Dramski Franklin saw two men resembling the robbers run into the Valencia Drive residence.
Banks said, "A search was conducted and a 9mm, silver semi-automatic revolver matching the one used during the robbery and cash that was taken from the victim were recovered in the suspect's bedroom."
Bryant Shorter, 18, was charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and gang participation, the report stated.
"Additional charges will be added by the Gang Unit for theft by receiving stolen property," Banks said. "The gun that was used was stolen in a burglary and the serial number was filed off."
Raheim Kendricks, 17, was charged with party to a crime of armed robbery, aggravated assault and gang participation, Banks added. No further information was immediately available.
