Daffodil Club names top March yard

ALBANY -- The home of Barbara and Barry Cohen has been selected as Albany's Yard of the Month for March by the Daffodil Garden Club.

Marideane Maxwell, chair of the club's Yard of the Month program, described the residence at 4912 Old Dawson Road as "a very large, sweeping yard with tall pines and plantings; a pebble curving drive leads through the pines to the home."

The club recognizes a yard each month in the hope that residents will take pride in the place they call home and will be inspired to spruce up and help make Albany a clean and beautiful place to live. Suggestions for consideration can be made by calling Maxwell at (229) 436-6888.

Building to begin on special needs park

LEESBURG -- Butterfly Kisses Special Needs Play Park is looking for people to come together and help build the special needs park at 9 a.m. on April 10.

The location of the park is Starkville Avenue North next to the Board of Education at the old soccer field. Organizations, business and individuals are all welcome.

The build will only be delayed if the delivery of equipment is delayed or the weather is unfavorable.
