ALBANY, Ga. -- An inaugural event taking place this weekend is expected to help bring in some needed funds for a pregnancy resource ministry connected with Sherwood Baptist Church.
The first Legacy Run for Life 5K will be held at Sherwood's Legacy Park on Old Pretoria Road Saturday.
Proceeds will benefit the Alpha Pregnancy Resource Center, which has been offering counseling and education services for mothers-to-be since 1991.
Registration and packet pick-up on the day of the race will begin at 7:30 a.m., with the 5K starting at 9:15 a.m. and the one-mile fun run/walk kicking off at 10:15 a.m. A toddler trot will follow the one-mile event, and there will also be games and activities set up for children.
Registration is $25 for the 5K and one-mile run, which includes a T-shirt, and $15 for the toddler trot -- which includes a T-shirt and a medal for finishing.
To register online, go to www.sherwoodbaptist.net/legacyrun. Online registration is due by 11:59 p.m. tonight. Pre-registration and packet pick-up will be from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Friday at Sherwood's fellowship hall.
