LEESBURG, Ga. -- Mia Register of Lee County was arrested on drunken driving and other charges in connection with a hit-and-run crash into a bicyclist on Old Leesburg Road about 8:20 p.m. Tuesday night, according to Spurlin.
According to Spurlin: Register, 25, was headed north when, according to investigators, she hit Jeffrey Haire, who was pedaling his bicycle on the right side of the road about 50 yards away from his residence.
Haire was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. He was reported to be in good condition today by a hospital spokeswoman. No other injuries were reported in the crash.
Register has been charged with drunken driving, failure to report an accident with injury, hit and run with serious injury, and endangering a child, Spurlin said.
There were two others in the Mazda, including Register's 7-year-old son, authorities said.
