ALBANY, Ga. -- Roy Jones, 17, was stabbed in the shoulder, back and head after he was confronted by a man around 7 p.m. Thursday while he was walking at Gail Avenue and Hoover Street, an Albany Police Department report stated.
Jones was in good condition at 9 p.m., a Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital spokeswoman said.
"Jones was walking along when a suspect approached him on the street," said Phyllis Banks, Albany Police Department spokeswoman.
"The suspect pulled out a knife and started stabbing Jones. He fell to the ground and the suspect grabbed money from his pocket and fled the scene on foot."
The attacker was described as a black man, about 5 foot 5 in his mid- to late 30s. He was wearing a black shirt and had a black book bag.
