Fredette wins Adolph Rupp Award

SALT LAKE CITY — BYU guard Jimmer Fredette is the 2011 Adolph Rupp Award winner as National Player of the Year.
Fredette is BYU’s first-ever Rupp Award winner. The award, presented by the Commonwealth Athletic Club of Kentucky, also is a first for the Mountain West Conference.
Fredette also joins San Diego State’s Kawhi Leonard on the John R. Wooden All-American Team.
The Cougar senior led BYU to a 32-5 season and to the NCAA’s round of 16. He had the highest scoring average in the nation (28.9) and shattered Danny Ainge’s school career scoring mark, finishing his career with 2,599 points after scoring a school-record 1,068 points this season.

Documents obtained by The Dawson News show city officials are proposing to balance the budget through a transfer from the Public Utilities Fund while simultaneously seeking authority to borrow as much as $420,000 from a private financial institution to continue meeting payroll and other operating expenses as Dawson works to complete financial audits that have remained unfinished since 2023.
