Georgiadogs.com has been inaccessible to many since Thursday morning due to a problem with the renewal of the domain registration. The problem had not been corrected early Friday.
"IMG is our rights holder for multimedia, and they have an automatic renewal process," said Alan Thomas, UGA's associate athletic director for external operations. "Why it didn't go through the automated process, we don't have an answer yet. We're backtracking to figure out why."
Many visitors to georgiadogs.com Thursday were greeted with a message about the domain name needing to be renewed. The site is coming back online at different times, depending on a user's Internet service provider, Thomas said.
Thursday was the original deadline for football season ticket holders to renew their seats. Fans who cannot access the site can call 706-542-1231, UGA said.
Season ticket applications can be mailed with a postmark dated Friday, or fans can visit either the UGA Athletic Association Ticket Office or the Georgia Bulldog Club offices.
