ATLANTA – The House agreed Thursday to Senate Bill 240, which would allow golf carts that go up to 20 mph and have some safety features on roads if local jurisdictions allow it.

Pitched as a jobs bill for an industry that has three manufacturers in Georgia, the measure passed 159-4.

Then-Gov. Sonny Perdue vetoed similar legislation last year.
