ALBANY, Ga. -- Four local Deerfield-Windsor School students have been selected as winners of the annual National Society of the Colonial Dames of America essay contest at the national level.
The winners from Deerfield include Rebecca Brown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Brown; Mitchell Flynn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Flynn; Sarah Camille Fox, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Fox; and Katherine Williams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Williams.
The four students won a one-week trip to Washington, D.C. to experience citizenship education about the national government.
The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America promotes the nation's heritage through historic preservation, patriotic service and educational projects.
