ALBANY -- Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia Inc. has awarded 10 girls from Albany the Girl Scout Silver and Bronze Awards.
Silver Award winners include Sa'Haara Jade Bryant, Emily Pursel, Delaney Smith and Lauren Underwood.
Bronze Award winners are Aryanna Barajas, Brianne Dale, Sara Lafayette, Sabrina Chu, Meredith Franklin and Hannah Takash.
The Silver Award is the highest award that a Girl Scout in grades 6-8 can earn. The Bronze Award is the highest award girls in grades 4-5 can earn.
Each recognizes outstanding accomplishment in the areas of leadership, community service and personal development. Each girl working toward these awards completes projects that put the Girl Scout Promises and Law into action and make a positive impact on her community.
The awards were presented during recent ceremonies at St. Theresa's Catholic School. Special guests included Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia board member and former mayor Tommy Coleman and Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia CEO Margaret Skene.
Girls who earn the Bronze and Silver Awards are encouraged to pursue the highest award in Girl Scouting, the Gold Award.
