ALBANY -- Downtown Albany presents the All American Lumberjack Show on Saturday, noon-8 p.m., on the 200 block of Broad Avenue in the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce parking lot.
Lumberjacks -- some believe them to be the legends of the forest -- opened up land to farms and cities. The All American Lumberjack Show invites the community to come out and see two teams compete in traditional lumberjack events.
Children will be able to participate in a Lumberjack sport camp on Saturday. Free to all age groups, kids will be taught x-cut sawing and log rolling by the pros.
Also that day, visitors will be able to see lumberjacks use lightweight saws, special bars and plain old logs to carve just about anything. The carvings will be available for sale.
Admission is $3, 13 years and older; free for those 12 years and younger.
