ALBANY, Ga. -- U.S. District Court Judge Louis Sands has agreed to delay the sentencing of former Archbold Hospital CEO Ken Beverly until after he's had an opportunity to hear Beverly's motion for a new trial, court records show.
Convicted Dec. 8 of six felony counts related to an indictment alleging he was part of a scheme to defraud Medicaid, Beverly remains free on bond.
He was set to be sentenced today, but a motion filed by Beverly's attorneys Monday seeking to delay the sentencing was granted by Sands.
The order granting the motion states that the U.S. attorney's office has been given until May 31 to issue a response to Beverly's motion for a new trial.
