ALBANY, Ga. -- Shots fired from a dark-colored car ripped into a 19-year-old Albany woman's arms Thursday just before midnight on the 400 block of West Society Avenue, stated an Albany Police Department report.
Chastity Ford was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, where she was treated for a gunshot wound to each arm, said Phyllis Banks, police spokeswoman.
Ford was discharged from the hospital before 4 p.m. Friday, said a hospital spokeswoman.
According to Banks, "The victim was standing outside near the street when she saw the vehicle. The driver drove through the area twice before shots were fired."
The number of times the vehicle drove by Ford could suggest the shooter, or shooters, knew who to look for, police said. The shooting has not been called gang related, but "Further investigation of this incident is being handled by the Albany Gang Unit," Banks said.
There are no suspects, the report stated. The vehicle may have been a Pontiac.
