ALBANY — The Albany Area Employer Committee will host a seminar for employers on the state’s unemployment insurance program.
It will be held Thursday, Nov. 17, from 8:15-11:30 a.m. at the Georgia Department of Labor’s Albany Career Center located at 1608 S. Slappey Blvd.
Entitled “Unemployment Insurance: What Every Employer Should Know,” the seminar will be led by Cherry Rizer, an employment and training consultant with the Labor Department. The seminar will focus on some of the most frequently-asked questions about the program. It is designed for business owners, human resource managers, supervisors and entrepreneurs.
The fee for the seminar is $20, which includes a continental breakfast.
Employer committees are groups of local business representatives who establish and maintain working relationships between employers and local career centers. The Albany committee recently won the Georgia Employer Committee’s Rising Star Award for 2011.
For more information about the seminar, or to register, contact Lynne Jones, Robin Chester or Wanda Causey at the Albany Career Center at (229) 430-5010.
A registration deadline has been set for Nov. 15.
