Moore picked to head library system

ALBANY, Ga. — The Board of Trustees of the Dougherty County Public Library has selected Ashley Moore as the new Director of the system. Moore begins her new position immediately.

Moore has served as Interim Director since April and had previously held the Assistant Director position since 2007. She has more than 11 years’ professional library experience, including positions at Peach Public Libraries and Gwinnett County Public Library.

Moore received a Master’s of Library and Information Studies from The University of Alabama and a Specialist in Library and Information Studies from Florida State University. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Dougherty County.

As Director of the Dougherty County Public Library, Moore will oversee an approximately $2.2 budget, 45 employees and five facilities.
