ALBANY — Thronateeska is hoping triple 11 will be a winning combination Friday.
Friday, of course, is the 11th day of the 11th month of 2011, a day that can written as 11/11/11. Playing on that combination, Thronateeska will host “Thronateeska’s 11/11/11 Encounter” at DIG Garden Center, 847 U.S. Highway 82, Leesburg, from 7:11 p.m. to 11:11 p.m. on Friday. The event is being held to raise funds to benefit Thronateeska’s education programs.
The programs that will benefit from this event are the science and history exhibits that are conducted for the schools and public, the astronomy series and summer camp programs.
The event will include 11 types of wine, 11 different cheeses and 11 flavors of beer.
Light hors d’oeuvres will be served and live music will be the entertainment. There will also be a live and silent auction going on throughout the evening which includes original artwork.
Admission is $11 and includes hors d’oeuvres and cheese tasting. A wristband can also be purchased for $11 for alcoholic beverages.
