"Excuse me, but our airport already has a name — McAfee Air Terminal, named for the late and great Albany leader and mayor, William McAfee, who was killed in a plane crash decades ago. To take it away from him and his family is simply not fair. Buy a statue or name a street for Mr. Johnson. Don’t bow to the constant pressure from his son."

I agree with the blogger! Actually, I think airports should be named for the city, i.e., Albany Municipal Airport, Atlanta International Airport, etc., etc., as well as any and all other public facilities. Keep politics out!!

I agree with the squawker. Why are we all caving to the Johnson family's demands?
The airport is fine the way it is...leave it alone.

Why can't the Civil Rights Museum be named after Mr. Johnson. Would there be a better honor for his efforts to bring Civil Rights to Albany?

Why again, is it so imperative that we name something after this Johnson fellow? Just because his son is persistent? Why doesn't someone tell the young man to go pay for something himself and name it after his father. Why must we pay for something to be named after his father. His father filed a lawsuit. Please.

I volunteer to donate my middle finger to the City and they can name it after him.
