Mason Worsham has been a leader on and off the field for years. He has two state titles and two undefeated seasons. What a way to go out young man.

Did Mason Worsham throw three interceptions or intercept the ball three times while he was on defense.

He plays defense also and had 3 interceptions before the Finals. Got two more picks in the Finals.

If nothing else they should share that award. I'm sure all these players deserve to be here.

Several times I've went to vote and it wouldn't except my vote saying I've already voted,..I just got up and no one else uses my computer...This is not fair to Chris....this should not be done in this manner anyway...This should be done by what they have done and their record...anyway CHRIS,if you don't win this ...this is just a stepping stone ..to all you can achive...We Love You and are behind you all the way!!!!!!!!

The_Dude is 100 percent correct. The Herald's sports staff will still be choosing our annual John Reynolds Player of the Year, as well as All-Area and All-Metro teams, which will be released -- as they are ever year --- around Chirstmas. The "People's Choice Player of the Year," is, in fact, a new feature that's going on its second year and simply gives our readers a chance to decide who THEY think the winner should be.
Congratulations to all those who were nominated. And make no mistake ... the John Reynolds Player of the Year will definitely be chosen from one of these six nominees.
Until then, keep voting! We've only got a little more than a day left.

when i think player of the year i think of Chris brown. offense/defense/special teams no matter where he touched the ball it was success not just one position

Player of the year should be decided by the sports writers based on on-the-field performance. Leaving it to the public just turns it into a ballot-stuffing popularity contest, which is what is happening now which cheapens it for all the nominees.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but, you are correct. Nothing but a popularity contest.

Mason Worsham's record stands for itself! He has led the Wildcat Team to back to back state champions! I know this fine young man personally and he is very deserving of receiving this honor. CONGRATULATIONS MASON!!!

I would have to go for Chris Brown..The stats alone tell the story. Votes or not, he is outstanding!
topgal 1 year, 5 months ago
If the other schools had backed their players as we did, it would have been a closer race. Blame your schools for that!!!!

Congrats Mason Worsham for winning this poll. Congrats to Chris Brown for being recognized. I do however think that the Albany Herald should review how they are doing this poll. I don't think they were prepared for all the traffic that the site had and this caused problems for the voters. I have tried to vote all day and it was either unavailable or said that I had voted when I had not. Please look into this problem before next year. Once again congrats to the winner Mason!

How many Albany Heralds are sold in Seminole County? There shouldn't even be a team or player on the Albany Herald radar from that far away.
