LEESBURG, Ga. — Valerie Davis Benton of Leesburg will be signing copies of her recently published novel, “Greater Heights,” after the 10 a.m. Leesburg Christmas parade on Saturday and until 2 p.m. at Java The Hut in downtown Leesburg.
Benton also has book-signing events scheduled for 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Dec. 9 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital’s Gifts From the Heart gift shop, and 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 10 at Veronica Luttrell’s Tearoom at Third Avenue and Slappey Boulevard.
Copies will be available for sale at each of the events.
The story, set against the backdrop of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks in New York, follows a woman in an abusive relationship who finds a path that changes her life. Benton, a former award-winning journalist, is public relations manager at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
