ALBANY, Ga. — Many people complain about having to run around during the holiday season, but some folks are doing it by choice this weekend.
The Jingle Bell Jog, an annual event that promotes healthy individuals and benefits Children’s Miracle Network, will kick off at Phoebe HealthWorks, at 311 W. Third Ave., at 8 a.m. Saturday.
This year’s event, hosted by Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital’s HealthWorks, features a 10K run, 5K run/walk and a 1-mile fun walk through Albany’s Rawson Circle area. Jingle Bell Jog is open to ages 6 and older.
Registration fees through wednesday are $25, and $30 on race day. All funds raised will be used to benefit children in Albany through the Children’s Miracle Network. Each participant will receive a long-sleeve Jingle Bell Jog t-shirt. Also, awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in each age group. Jingle Bell Jog is part of the 2011 Run and See Georgia Grand Prix Series.
Those interested in participating in Jingle Bell Jog can register by going online to www.jinglebelljog.org or call 229-312-2200 for more information.
