ALBANY, Ga. -- Taiun N. Davis, aka Tayun, was charged Saturday with Friday's murder of 14-year-old James Anderson in East Albany, an Albany Police Department report stated.
Other felony charges against Davis followed from an investigation into the robbery of a pizza delivery man Willie Arthur Tift Jr. about 9:45 p.m. Thursday.
According to police reports, Davis shot Anderson in the back of the head while the two were in a bedroom at 801-A Mercedes St.
"Due to the investigation the detectives were able to gain information on the robbery of the 20-year-old pizza delivery man," said Phyllis Banks, police spokeswoman. "Detectives say the victim, 14-year old James Anderson, had no involvement in the armed robbery of the pizza delivery driver."
The charges against Davis from the pizza delivery man robbery on the 600 block of Moultrie Road are: armed robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and entering auto, a Dougherty County Jail spokeswoman said. He and his alleged partners in the pizza delivery case remain in jail, she added.
It was not disclosed if the people involved in the pizza delivery robbery were the ones who fled the scene of the murder before police arrived.
According to police reports, the following were involved in the pizza delivery robbery: Dontavious Calloway, 17, charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, entering auto and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
