LEESBURG, Ga. — Applications will be accepted through Oct. 17 for the first Hometown Harvest Festival “Blue Jeans & Beauty Queens” pageant, which will be held Oct. 20 at Lee County High School’s Clay Auditorium.
Beauty queens in four age groups will be selected and presented at the Hometown Harvest Festival in Leesburg on Oct. 22.
Contestants will compete in their favorite pair of blue jeans and a top of their choice. Makeup and hair should be age-appropriate in the following categories: Petite Miss, ages 3-5; Little Miss, ages 6-10; Junior Miss, ages 11-13; and Miss Hometown Harvest, ages 14-18.
Rehearsals will be held starting at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 17 for ages 3-10 and on Oct. 18 for ages 11-18 at the Clay Auditorium.
Applications are available at Lee County High School or online at theatreLCHS@lee.k12.ga.us. Young ladies from throughout Southwest Georgia are eligible to enter the pageant, but winners must be available for the Hometown Harvest Festival. Entry fee is $25.
Tickets for the pageant, which are $5, will be sold in advance from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. the week of the pageant. For additional information, contact the LCHS Theatre Department at (229) 903-2297.
Proceeds from the pageant will provide scholarships for young women in the county.
