ALBANY, Ga. -- Torand Howard, 19, one of two people police were searching for in connection to the armed robbery Thursday of a pizza delivery employee, turned himself in at 10 a.m. Sunday.

He was being held in the Dougherty County Jail on Monday. Albany Police Department spokeswoman Phyllis Banks-Whitley said he is being charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, entering auto and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Willie Arthur Tift Jr. was delivering pizza to Apartment D-7, a vacant residence, at 608 Moultrie Road about 9:45 p.m. Thursday when a group of gunmen robbed him of an unspecified amount of cash and other pizzas and sodas from his vehicle, according to reports.

Tift managed to escape in his vehicle and was injuried, even though the gunmen fired shots at him.

All the suspects were initially described as black males, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, who weighed 170-180 pounds. APD officials said two had light complexions and one had a dark complexion.

Among those police believe to be connected to the incident is Taiun Davis, who also has been charged with the homicide of 14-year-old James Anderson, who was shot in the back of the head Friday morning. The charges against Davis from the pizza deliverer robbery are armed robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and entering auto.

Dontavious Calloway, 17, has been charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, entering auto and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime for the incident.

Calloway's sister, Jacqueline, 26, is charged with theft by receiving and obstruction of an officer.

James Tanner Jr., about 20, is still wanted in connection to the robbery. When arrested, police say they plan to charge him with armed robbery, aggravated assault, entering auto and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

If what he is charged with is true, he never needs to see the light of day again. These thugs are the reason Albany has the reputation it has. Lord forbid you work and be a productive member of society. We have too many people who are leeches. All they want to do is suck the system dry without ever putting anything back in. Here you have individuals that were willing to kill a person for some pizza. They should be locked up, given one slice of pizza a day to eat, and made to work alongside the highways picking up trash. We have to start making examples of these thugs.

Find them and lock all of their tales up! I used to live in the Springs Apartments and they tried the same thing there. They used my apartment # to order pizza and such. One attempt failed because I came home. The 2nd attempt someone was coming to visit and they thought it was the delivery guy. I saw their heads peeping around the corner and a big dude came out of nowhere ready to rob. After the police came and left they called another pizza place and robbed the pizza guy. They hit him upside his head with a gun and took his pizza and his little change. THE TERROR THAT THEY CAUSE PEOPLE LIVING IN AN AREA AND THE PEOPLE THAT ARE OUT TRYING THEIR BEST TO MAKE A LIVING IS UNFAIR AND THEY SHOULD BE LOCKED UP AND SENT OUT OF THIS CITY. I have no sympathy. Its unfair.
