Damious King turns self in to police

— Damious King, sought in last week's armed robbery at an East Albany fast-food restaurant, has turned himself in, police say.

King is under suspicion as being one of two assailants who shot a man in the arm Wednesday during a robbery attempt in the parking lot of the Long John Silver's restaurant on East Oglethorpe Blvd.

Albany Police Department spokeswoman Phyllis Banks said King turned himself in minutes ago.

King and Wesley L. Anderson, 41, are wanted in connection with an aggravated assault and a robbery, police officials said.

King and Anderson are under suspicion for shooting Giorgi Kartvilish in the arm when he resisted a robbery attempt, a police report stated.

Police say two robbers fled the restaurant in an older model Chevrolet S-10 pickup, which was abandoned in the 100 block of Eugene Lane.

Kartvilish was discharged from Phoebe on Friday.
