Albany Author Doug Dahlgren will be at Merry Acres from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday for the signing of his new book.
While living in Albany, Dahlgren attended Albany High School in the mid-1960s and his visit coincides with the reunion of the school’s 1964-65 classes. He is coming back home to promote his newest book, “The Son Silas Rising,” self published. His book is the sequel to “The Only Constant” and continues with the main character Jon Crane.
The story is a political thiller set in west Texas on a cattle ranch. The book starts out when a hispanic ranch hand discovers the body of a senator draped from barbed wire and calls for help. Crane is re-introduced in his novel to help solve the crime.
Doug Dahlgren and his wife, Donna, have three grown children. Retired, he lives in Decatur.
He will also soon release the third book of this series, “The Basics of Fundamentals.”
Cathy O’Dell, the manager of Merry Acres Inn, will have pre-sale books available in the lobby of the Inn.
Contact (229) 435-7721.
