BAKER COUNTY — A three-truck crash in Baker County killed William Walter Roberts of Denton before 10:40 a.m. Tuesday, a Georgia State Patrol report stated.
According to trooper reports, Roberts was stopped in his 1993 blue Ford Ranger in the northbound lane of State Highway 91. While Roberts was waiting for a break in traffic to make a left onto Pretoria Road, a white Dodge Dakota pickup rear-ended his Ford.
The collision with the Dodge, driven by James Clayton Oxyer of Chipley, Fla., sent Roberts’ vehicle into the southbound lane of 91, where he was hit by a tractor-trailer and killed. The tractor-trailer was driven by Dale Roland Parker of Collins.
No other injuries were reported. The case is under investigation by the Specialized Collision and Reconstruction Team of troopers and charges are pending.
“We are not expecting that drugs or alcohol played a part in this crash,” said Trooper Walter Spurlin.
