ALBANY — Albany police responded to at least 16 incidents Wednesday, according to available reports. Police responded to incidents including:

— Entering autos on the 1900 block of Cobblestone Court, the 1900 block of Melrose Drive and the 800 block of 16th Avenue;

— Thefts by taking on the 600 block of Gaines Avenue, the 1900 block of Palmyra Road and the 500 block of South Van Buren Street;

— Burglary on the 1800 block of West Lincoln Avenue;

— Aggravated assault on the 1000 block of Dunes Avenue;

— Domestic disturbances (unfounded) on the 300 block of South Jackson Street and the 1500 block of Whitney Drive.

ALBANY FIRE: According to a department report, firefighters responded to a 7:50 p.m. call Wednesday about a smoke smell at the Carmike Wynnsong 16 cinema at 2823 Nottingham Way. There was an electrical equipment problem, so firefighters closed theater No. 4 and evacuated the audience until the theater’s maintenance crew could make repairs. There were no injuries, and the shows continued in the other 15 theaters.

Albany firefighters also responded to nine other calls including a power line down, two activated alarms, two fire safety programs, a tree limb down on a cable wire, a vehicle crash, a cat rescue and a street light down.
