ALBANY — Theatre Albany will conduct a second round of auditions for the musical “Little Women” at 7 p.m. Sunday at the theater, 514 Pine Ave.
Based on Louisa May Alcott’s family experiences (and novel), “Little Women” follows the adventures of Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March as they grow up in Civil War America. The beloved story of the March sisters is timeless and deals with issues as relevant today as when they were written. Now, this wonderful narrative has been brought to life as an exhilarating new musical filled with glorious music, dancing and heart.
Director Mark Costello is especially looking to cast four men (ages 18 and up) for the roles of Laurie, Professor Bhaer, Mr. Laurence and Mr. Brooke. Women’s roles (ages 16 and up) include Jo, Amy, Beth, Meg, Marmee and Aunt March.
Those interested in auditioning should prepare a song to sing — something that shows off the voice — and bring either the sheet music or a CD. An accompanist will be provided. Callbacks are set for 7 p.m. Monday. Rehearsals are scheduled to begin Oct. 23, with performances scheduled for Dec. 8-18. For further information, call the theater at (229) 439-7193.
