APD investigates armed home invasion

ALBANY, Ga. — Armed thieves lured her away and put a gun in her roommate’s face during a home invasion robbery Friday afternoon, Kiantai Brown told police.

Albany Police Department investigators continued to interview Brown and her roommate Diana Williams at about 5:30 p.m. at the women’s 2000 Tompkins Avenue Regency Courts apartment.

“They took my bag with the money I was saving to move,” Brown said. “They took my friend’s wallet and cell phone.”

Brown said that earlier in the day she saw “four black dudes” sitting in front of her apartment building on the steps. She got a phone call asking her to meet a friend and left the building, she added.

Williams, who remained in the apartment, answered the door and the four men rushed in holding a handgun in the woman’s face, Brown said. They then grabbed a book bag, money, a wallet and a cell phone and ran away, she added.

No police department reports were immediately available.
