Leesburg The Lee County High School Theatre Arts program will present the Cherie Bennett play “John Lennon and Me” at the school’s Robert Clay Auditorium this weekend and Tuesday of next week.
The performances will help the Lee students prepare for the region one-act play competetion, which is scheduled for Oct. 27 at Northside-Warner Robins High School.
Lead actress Amelia Maxfield plays “Star” in the production, a terminally ill teenager who finds inspiration in the works of former Beatle John Lennon. Other student-actors include Taylor Spriggle, Megan Lisenby, Davis Cowart, Demi Davis, Caleb Pines, Jessi Robison, Garrett Odom, Austin Brana and Becky Jo Baltenberger.
Performances are scheduled Friday, Saturday and Tuesday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Tickets, which are $5, will be available at the auditorium box office.
